COVID-19 Schedule, Events, & Policies - West Austin:
Academic Support Program
Is your child a full-time virtual learner within the Austin Independent School District?
Are you also trying to meet work obligations? Let us support your family!
Located at WAYA and operated by ChampionsTX, our Academic Support Program is designed to collaboratively work with you & your child’s school to support your virtual learner and provide as many screen free breaks as their schedule allows. Our learning pods are organized by grade level and led by an amazing Academic Coach. Not only will learners have daily support for their virtual learning schedule, they will receive opportunities each day for hands-on enrichment and plenty of physical activity! Each of our pods is scheduled for 45 full minutes of gymnastics or parkour each day!
We stand apart with our small ratios, with a maximum of 10 students per learning pod. Our top of the line cleaning and sanitizing has kept ChampionsTX at WAYA Covid-19 free since reopening in June!

Tuition and Fees:
In our yearly calendar, there is a total of 34/35 weeks of classes. Tuition is due monthly on the 1st. If an account has charges 7 days past due, a $25 late fee will be added to the account. You can sign-up for autopay and it will automatically be taken off your card on the 1st. It is the parent’s responsibility to keep their online account up to date with credit cards, emails and phone numbers. Please make sure the credit card information and email address on file for your account are correct.
Program fee is calculated for each type of activity depending on the uniform and recital at end of year.
Cancellation Policy: All tuition paid is non-refundable. In order to drop from a class or program, we need written notice to 14 days before the 1st of the month. Teams are considered a full year commitment, so please consider your decision to join one of our higher level workouts carefully before accepting your team invitation. FAQ and Important Info:
Where are restrooms and water fountains at Waya Champions? Champions restrooms and water are located at the base of the stairs, in the entrance of Waya. Thanks to the Waya Family Day purchase, you can now bring your water bottle and fill it up before running up stairs.
How do I schedule a makeup? Just call or email our front desk what date you’ll be out and what class day/time you want to makeup in, or email with that info. We are proud to be one of the few gyms to offer makeups! Make-ups must be scheduled with the office to ensure there is enough space and that we are keeping our coach:student ratios for great classes. Make-ups are for currently enrolled students only. If you drop, makeups are forfeited. Please alert the office that you will be missing your class by emailing so that another child can makeup in your spot and any workout plans can be adjusted. Make-ups must be done in classes of the same type.
Is there someone in the gym who is trained in CPR & First Aid? At least one person at all times in the gym has a current CPR & First Aid Certification, although in most cases, there is at least one CPR & First Aid Certified Teacher in every single camp group, too.
Do y’all have Open Gym? Yes! Saturday’s from 1:30 - 2:30pm we have open gym for ages 5.5yrs and up AND POP (Preschool Open Play) on Fridays from 9:30 - 10:45 for 6 mos to 5.5yrs. Check your calendar for any possible closing dates. Parents must stay (you can wait in the chairs, or hop on the floor to help with kids 3 and under). FREE for currently enrolled Champions and $15 for your friends, that are non-current Champions.
Do y’all have Parents’ Night Out events? Yes! We call them Fun Fridays and they are Friday night from 6:30-10! It is for ages 4-14 (3 if fully potty trained) and is a really fun open gym, cooperative games, giant obstacle course, hangout with pizza. Please look online for available dates.
Can parents watch? When covid numbers are high we ask that parents do not enter the building! When covid numbers are low parents are welcome to watch their children in our parent watch area (competitive teams have different policies). For safety reasons and in order not to distract students, siblings who aren’t enrolled should remain off the mats and equipment. Please clean up our kids play area after your children. We also offer official parent watch days in November and May.
Where can I find a calendar? There should be a calendar in this welcome folder! You do not pay for any planned closures, such as Winter Break, as they are not calculated into tuition. (Though we do offer awesome camps on almost all days AISD is closed!!) In the event of inclement weather, ChampionsTX generally follows the school district’s decision and you can find information on our social media pages (@ChampionsTX_WAYA).
